"We're not constitutionally bound"

So today I was in line in front of a certain Alpha in the Chic-Fil-A. I was like "Bro, you got me right?" Of course you know I was simply kidding, but he went into this huge spiel about how he didn't claim us (the FIRST and the FINEST Sorority-- Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.) and we weren't constitutionally bound and blah blah blah.

That was this morning, and this evening that phrase is still in my head "We're not constitutionally bound".

I don't want to be constitutionally bound to the Alphas.

But before you write me off as just another stuck-up AKA hear me out.

I don't want to be constitutionally bound to the Alphas because I don't want to have to be bound to them. I want it to be a choice. I want us to be bound by dreams of service and excellence and building up our African American community. I want us to be bound by our mutual choice to join the PHIRST AND THE PHINEST in Greek organizations. I want them to know that our founder looked at their organization and admired it.

I want them to know that I look at their organization and admire it.

I want them to know I love my A phi A not because of a piece of paper.

I claim them.
